2004-04-13 - 3:42 p.m. Current song: Winding Wheel, Ryan Adams This transition business of going from wide-eyed college grad to full-time (aw who am I kidding?) double full-time worker isn't as much fun as I originally thought it was going to be. And for the record I never thought it was gonna be fun in the first place. But it's ok. I ran last night for just under an hour. It was about 10pm, the La Tolteca in my stomach had finally settled, and for some reason I had a hankerin to hit the streets and reacquaint myself with the University that tried its best to sodomize me over a four and a half year period. It was kinda cold, thermometer said aboot 45 degrees, but I still went with the ole t-shirt and sweatpants anyways. Luckily, the entire first half of the run was downwind so I avoided the majority of the chilling bluster while receiving periodic glances from other joggers that could be interpreted as "Put a jacket on hardass!" Current song: Snail, Smashing Pumpkins My jog took me past the Health Center (which got a pretty badass double deuce salute from me), down past Stankowski field (where 8 different teams of girls were playing soccer), around the south quad, past the columns, through memorial union and finally home. All-in-all, one of the longer more fulfilling jogs I've ever taken. Current song: Chump, Green Day Even after the jog, a slow cool down on the couch, and the usually calming presence of Alicia, I still couldn't sleep. That of course makes little sense. I'd been up since 8am, worked till 7pm and even ran for an hour, and still I couldn't sleep. Perhaps it's the apprehension surrounding my ginormous laundry list of "To-Do's" in preparation for my parents' visit the first week of May. Figuring out full time benefits, paying taxes, organizing paperwork, cleaning the carpets, getting my car in for its 50,000 mile check-up, etc... Vacation anybody? Current Song: Uno, Muse New Current Song: I've Just Seen a Face, The Beatles Anywho, I recognize that this entry is lacking my usual flair for creativity and comedy so I'm gonna call it quits rather than drag you further down into the gray, unfunny, and certainly uninteresting funk I'm in. Peace out yo. Song to go: Nothing Better, The Postal Service
