Current tune: Walking After You, Foo Fighters

What is it about the yellow pepper (also known in small reclusive circles as the "banana pepper") that excites me so?

Why is it that by simply adding this ringed, ridged, ridiculously tangy pepper to my Quiznos sub, that sub suddenly becomes so much tastier?

Don't get me wrong Mr. Quizno. Your clever use of oven roasting technology, coupled with inventive meat and cheese combinations make your subs pretty nigh-invulnerable to begin with.

But there's just somethin about those dang yellow peppers...Is anyone else feeling me?

Anywho, I got my taxes done yesterday, which narrows my to-do list down a lil bit. Just a lil bit.

The Taxmen are playing Thursday night at Cody's. Who are The Taxmen you ask? Or maybe you didn't, but the answer is forthcoming nonetheless.

Current song: Love Boat Captain, Pearl Jam

The Taxmen are a Beatles tribute band made up of myself on keyboards, Richard (of Ario Progitica fame) on bass and lead vocals, his roommate Josh on lead guitar and lead vocal, Stephen on rhythm guitar, and my ultra smooth yet equally spicy roommate Jordan on drums.

Lemme tell ya this folks, if you like the Beatles (and only baby-killers don't, you're not a baby-killer are you?) then you need to come see this band play. If we do well Thursday, we have the potential of becoming the Cody's Thursday night house band, which would mean I wouldn't have to work Thursday nights anymore!!! So be there dammit! Please! I need the sleep!

On a lighter note, I bought a bunch of cd's and dvd's yesterday, one of which was the R.E.M "Perfect Square" live concert DVD. Not bad. Not bad at all, but not terrific either. Although the performance of rarities such as "Country Feedback" and "Electrolite" were worth the 19.99 alone.

Current Tune: Philosophy (Live), Ben Folds Five

Anywho, my co-worker Kim wants to go for a walk and score some ice cream, and whilst I don't have a taste for the cream of ice, I love any excuse to get out of the office and go for a walk. The weather is beautiful, the birds are singing, and the campus is crawling with girls in their shorts and tank tops. God bless.

Ok, so for the next few entries I'm gonna list 5-10 songs that I consider the greatest of all time and then after aboot 100 or so have been totaled, I'll put together my 50 greatest songs of all time and why they're the best. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to leave them in the guestbook and I'll be sure to credit you if it makes the 50 list.

Current Song: In My Life, Johnny Cash.

So what makes a song one of "The Greatest Songs of All Time?" Well in my opinion, it has to do the following things. The song must move you, it must inspire some sort of immediate emotional reaction. It can excite you, anger you, bring you to tears, any of these things...but it must move you to some emotion. Another quality that makes a song "great" in my eyes is if it can be immediately attached to a memory, person, feeling, experience, etc. And finally, it's a great song if musically it's amazing, downright solid or innovative.

Current song: Traveling Without Moving, Jamiroquai

So without further ado, let's cook up the first batch of nominees for this honor.

1. Melt with You, Modern English

2. Honky-Tonk Woman, Rolling Stones

3. Imagine, John Lennon

4. So Far Away, Carole King

5. Ashes of American Flags, Wilco

6. Won't Get Fooled Again, The Who

7. All Apologies, Nirvana

8. Hey Jude, The Beatles

9. Maybe I'm Amazed, Paul McCartney

10. Suspicious Minds, Elvis Presley

Ok, there's the first 10. Like I said, lets try and get aboot 100 spanning all genres, and definitely all decades. A song doesn't have to have been enjoyed for years to make it great. Some new tunes are just as awesome as the old ones ya know? So get goin!

Songs that played during list making:

You don't see me, The Beatles & Two Way Monologue, Sondre Lerche
