2004-09-21 - 12:34 a.m. There is a pounding pressure located directly behind my eyes, and it intensifies everytime I shut my eyes too hard. It's slowly been kreeping down the bridge of my nose and has recently nesselted itself on the inside of my nostrils. Accompanying this uncomfortable pressure is a relentless headache, a forever running nose, a scratchy throat, and a reoccuring feeling of nausea. I'm sick. Actually sick. I think the last time I was actually sick (and not just exhausted, playing hooky, etc...) was like 2 years ago. I'd like to think my exercise, relatively healthy diet, and generally positive outlook are the reasons for my ability to dodge most illnesses. But not this time. I'm gonna blame it on the week of concerts. Ryan Adams Monday, heavy on the Makers Mark on the Rocks, Wilco on Tuesday, heavy on the Cuervo on the rocks, and Green Day Saturday, heavy on the Sapphire and Tonic. All together, prolly a scant 5 hours of sleep each night. So anyways, this isn't an entry. It's more of a interim until the next one. Just feeling sick. And just when I was feeling totally helpless and alone, the guy from Gerbes knocks on our door baring a cardboard box filled with tissue paper, a shitty red ribbon, two cans of tomato soup and some shredded cheddar cheese. There wasn't a name signed to the get well card, but it didn't take me more than 2 seconds to know who it came from. Thank you. That one little act of kindness was the only thing that kept me from breaking down today. Just thought you should know that. You are wonderful.
